7 Ways to Celebrate Your Parents on Respect Your Parents Day

Parents are superheroes, they commit their lives to our happiness, and it is natural and normal to celebrate them when they are older, especially if they need greater assistance. We won't even try to count how our parents have impacted our lives; for many of us, we would not be able to complete the counting.
Respect for Parents Day is a special day celebrated on the first of August. This day provides an opportunity for us to pause and celebrate our parents' remarkable assistance, teaching, and sacrifices—which have been the foundation of who we are today. Many people think that the holiday may have its roots in the basic human need to respect and value parents' love and care. Thanks to President Bill Clinton, Respect for Parents Day was first observed in the United States in 1994.
JASACare longstanding experience working, caring, and bringing joy to seniors has helped us understand the importance of this day of celebration. In this article, to honor this day, the team at JASACare took the time to interview several parents and came up with seven (7) amazing ways to celebrate them on this Respect for Parents Day.
-
Pay them a Visit
Sometimes seeing you is the best gift they want to receive on this special day. Visiting them makes them feel honored and special. Seeing you will make them feel happy. Take with you a token or even a handwritten card for them. If your parents love surprises, you can also give them a surprise.
-
Send them a Gift
A thoughtful gift is more than a thousand words. If you cannot make it to visit them, then you can think of something they love and send it to them.
-
Give them a Call
If you cannot visit them, a voice or video call with them will lift their spirits. If you have a family of your own, you can ask everyone to jump on the call and make them feel even more special.
-
Take them out
Look for their favorite places and take them there. It could be in the form of a surprise, but it does not have to be a big outing. A visit to the park or an eatery is a lovely gesture.
-
Spend time with them
Spending quality time with your parents, engaging in fun activities, or just speaking with them is a beautiful way to celebrate this special day. You can take a walk with them and relive beautiful memories.
-
Host a Mini Virtual Party
It can be pretty challenging to host a party in such a short while, but a virtual party does not require so much work. You can engage in fun activities. You can use the Zoom or Google meet app and ask friends and other family members to join via the link.
-
Write Something Thoughtful for them
You can write them a poem or letter telling them how much you love and appreciate them. If you could write about a particular time you remember, it would make them happy and proud. If you do not want to write, you can also type and send it to them.
In a Nutshell, this is an opportunity to show your parent that you care by spending time with them or acknowledging them.
